Limp - Limp (Honest Don's/Fat Wreck)

I have seen the East Bay band, Limp, a couple of times. The first time, the vocalist, Phil Ensor’s voice was almost gone and the band was still really good. Every time I listen to them, they grow on me. I received 3 albums to review and the Limp album was the only one I kept listening to over and over. The new album is exquisite.

The band’s third studio full-length album, self-titled, is packed with catchy songs. The first song titled Oh No, opens the album with a drum beat and a science fiction sound. Song number 3, Atom Bomb, happens to be my favorite on the album. Ensor purposely cracks his voice while the drums, bass and guitar sound half eighties and half science fiction. The album goes along with the new millennium aspect while still holding onto the band’s punk rock roots and, even adding in a country/emo sounding song on track ten, AIL.

I don’t know how many times I have listened to this album over and over again. I figure each of the eleven songs cost about $1. I might as well make use of each and every dollar since I am a poor college student. The album comes out February 19, save up your money for a couple weeks. $5 a week or $1 a day and you will be set! Support the band. I love it so you should too.
