Wanda's - Top Seven Best of Punk Rock Bowling 2004:
7. Flogging Molly,
Throwrag, Punk
Rock Karaoke – great show, great line up, nice venue. The balcony
was an added classy touch.
6. The Way the Sterns
Pulled it Together at the Last Minute – mucho props go to BYO for
a) not losing our money and b) managing to find another place to hold
the tournament at the last minute and getting everyone housed. True professionalism!
5. Our Team Uniforms – the best yet! Thank you to Aisha
and Norma at Pair-a-Dice
Clothing for creating six dresses in five weeks. Amazing!
4. Roxy’s Bar – the cover bands were AWESOME! I have happy
memories of dancing with Curtiss from the Hurtin’ Crue, Brian from
Shot to Hell and Rusty Monday to KC & the Sunshine Band. “Do
a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight!”
3. Winning! We came in 7th place! I did not hope for or expect that at
all, but I’m glad it happened for a whole lot of reasons!
2. My mom coming to watch me bowl! Since her heart attack, every minute
I spend with Mom is a true gift. Having her cheer me on, when we spent
so many years arguing about the color of my hair, and my “weird”
clothes and my punk rock music, made me feel totally accepted for who
I am and really, really happy.
1. Our Barflies.net crew of bowlers,
cheerleaders, and supporters. More than once, Barflies.net struggled for
writers committed enough to actually turn in content. Looking at our writers,
staff, and supporters, I think that as we head into year number five,
Barflies.net is stronger than ever! |
